This family I have photographed every year for 11 years and when they moved to Jupiter, Florida, I continued to photograph them there. I was just down to see them this past weekend. Now the littlest girl who was 1 year old when I started and is now 11 and the girl who was 7 then, is graduating from high school. How time changes everything!
We had set aside Sunday as the photography day. We woke up to a tropical storm. It cleared for a couple hours in the morning so we photographed the family around the house. Then there was the deluge. Later we did pictures at the beach and then during the magic golden hour.
The dad said we basically had 5 days of weather in one day! And he did say that since they don’t have mountains, the clouds are amazing!
There were many fun moments: the rain making a beautiful pattern on the large screen behind their house, having the older daughter dance there, the son reflected with the clouds in the pool, running in the rain, the younger daughter in her tutu reflected in the mirror and then the golden hour and colorful sunset.
They have a giant Bernadoodle named Comet. He was one of a set of puppies born around Christmas and the whole litter was named after reindeers. He has a lot of personality and seems like a human.
It means so much to me to watch these families grow and the kids come into their own. I am so lucky to be a family photographer!
